The Adventure Team Goes to BlogPaws
As you know from Sophie’s birthday party post on Wednesday, the Adventure Team went to Myrtle Beach last week for the 2017 BlogPaws Conference. While celebrating Sophie’s birthday was definitely one of the highlights of the trip, there were so many memories made. We learned tons about growing our blog and even our music business, we visited with many of our blogging buddies, we networked with some awesome brands, and we had an absolute blast doing it all!
One of the best parts about the trip was adding Caster to the Adventure Team. Sophie and Kylo Ren are seasoned adventure cats, but Caster had never been on a trip before. I was pleasantly surprised at how well he did. He didn’t make a peep the entire car ride (which was roughly 6 hours long), and he adjusted pretty quickly to the hotel room. He even enjoyed riding around in our new cat stroller, hanging out in the Cat Style Lounge, and meeting some new furiends!
Sophie was also an amazing adventure cat companion, as always. Her laid-back temperament makes her so easy to travel with. She just goes with the flow, and she eats up all of the attention. She is a ham for sure! Sophie is always our little social butterfly, so she tried to make furiends with absolutely everyone she came into contact with – including dogs, people, cats, kittens, and even a ferret!
Kylo Ren was a wonderful Adventure Team member as well. He didn’t particularly enjoy riding around in the stroller (he would prefer to be out in the kayak or hiking the trails), but he did well with all of the people and commotion. He even attended a few of the sessions and helped me take notes sat quietly in my lap.
I do believe the KCC Adventure Team had a wonderful time, but they sure were exhausted by the end of it! We are all looking forward to next year’s conference in Kansas City, MO though! In the meantime, enjoy this slideshow we put together of all the other great photos from our trip!
Swag Bag Giveaway!
We are excited to be giving away an awesome swag bag from BlogPaws! Each conference attendee gets a swag bag full of toys, treats, food, and other miscellaneous cat items. Since my husband and I both went, we got TWO bags PLUS TWO MORE from the Cat Writer’s Association Banquet! This added up to way more swag than we need, so we picked out some stuff to keep, put together a sizable bag to donate to our favorite rescue, and another to give away to one of our readers who didn’t get to attend the conference.
About the giveaways: No purchase necessary. Giveaway is open to US residents only, except where prohibited by law. Giveaway will run from May 26, 2017 at 12:01am EST through June 2, 2017 at 12:00am EST. One winner will be randomly selected and notified via email. Winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of the prize.

OMC, Sophie’s coming to Kansas City? I am SO excited!!! My human and I both adore Sophie to bits. I wish you had more time (you seem like you are really busy), because if you had extra time, I think Sophie would be the most amazing therapy cat!

The mom says Sophie was amazing at the conference…making furiends with everybuddy. She’s such a special girl.

O hope Sophie had the time of her life. Though I don’t know much about how cats do or do not like to socialize. I know Cookie always sucks in all love and attention she can get.
Heather Wallace says
Sounds like you have a wonderful addition to your Adventure Team! I love your idea of doing a giveaway with some of the swag bag items. I was able to give some of my swag to my fur sister, Bella, a shih poo mix. She loves all the toys that my dogs would annihilate. I have quite a few things set aside to donate to the local rescue.
Sherri says
Brave of you to take three pets to BlogPaws. I took one but he didn’t mertcany cats which was likely for the best (even if he lives with one). He spent most of the time in the small dog park
Sam and Teddy says
We’ve seen so many photos of this year’s Blogpaws to know that everyone had a FABULOUS and fun time. Lots of fun activities and fun friends to visit – and just look at all that SWAG! We didn’t make it to Blogpaws this year and probably won’t next year but sure would enjoy a bag of swag if we won. Teddy is our only cat as you know but he’s always “up” for new stuff as he’s young enough that every day is an adventure of some kind!! How wonderful that three of your Adventure Team made it with you to the event and THEY had a ball too……………..
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
Tamago says
Wow, looks like everyone had a fantastic time! Love the first picture. You and Sophie are beautiful! Love pic of Sophie with doggie, too. She is so amazing! And glad Caster enjoyed his first adventure 🙂
Which company did you get stroller from? Does it have good suspention? I’ve been thinking about getting one, mainly for Niko. He doesn’t like leash but I thought he might enjoy the ride 🙂

I love seeing these photos from the cat room, a place I’ll never get to go. We gave a lot of the swag away to friends — rescue and foster dogs like me who could always use a treat. Plus some for my favorite puppy Onyx!
