The Carolina Wrens have Finally Fledged
If you saw our post a few weeks back about the bird nest on our front door, you know that we’ve been on baby bird watch for a little while now. Well, I’m excited to say that the eggs hatched on June 21st, and after watching them grow day by day, they finally fledged on July 3rd. It was bittersweet to see the nest empty, but I know they have flown off to bigger and better things!
I did manage to snap a photo of them each day so we could see their progress. It’s amazing how quickly they grow!

I had no idea baby birds grew so fast! It takes kittens a LOT longer.

That’s really cool having the progression of growth photos. Any one that you give your attention to, becomes a part of your world.
Tamago says
Oh my goodness, they are so adorable! Glad they grew and fledged safely 🙂

you are lucky the Mama bird built the nest so that you could SEE them! Our nest here is built between the rungs of a ladder that is attached to our wall on the balcony. Mama bird was smart, she did it so that we could only see the nest. The nest was from last year and guess what? Another Mama Bird used the same nest this year! And….her eggs have hatched and the babies have left and I have seen yet another bird coming over here! I think we have a maternity ward lol

It’s very interesting to see the progression through your photos and see how quick they grow up. Purrs

How fun to watch them grow! We had a robin’s nest in our tree by our patio, but we never really got to see the babies. And now they’re gone too.

Great photos. Maybe the Mom and Dad will have a second brood. Our bluebirds have started again.

That must have been fun to watch.

We lots of various young birds here, but we have not seen any nests anywhere, One year though we had a bluejay nest under our eaves. And another year we had a robins nest in a big dense shrub.
Cool to be able to see them from ‘start to finish’ as it were.
