Even after the rock had been removed from the disposal, she continued to stand guard. To this day, even since we have moved into a new house, she can still be found at the sink staring into the drain. She will go so far as to stand with her front paws in the sink and face up close to the drain, staring down the hole as we run water and wash the dishes. She has seriously devoted herself to solving the mystery of the kitchen sink. When she lost her rock to the evil sink monster, I think she realized how scary those sink holes really are. Things go down and never come back up again! She sometimes looks up at us with this exasperated expression on her face that seems to say, “Why am I the only one who is concerned about this big black hole in the kitchen?!?”
Sweet Delilah – our guard kitty, protecting us from the monsters that live down the kitchen sink drain. We are forever grateful.

Delilah is a brave girl to stand guard in case another vagrant rock commits suicide in the garbage disposal.

Such funny behavior. Our angel Thelma used to go hunting in the garbage disposal all the time. If we put something down it and didn’t grind it up right away, she would put her paw down and dig it out. Sometimes I will find one to three cats staring at a place on the floor by the back door or door to the guest room. I have not figured out that behavior. They are endlessly amusing characters. MOL! Although I do want to add that we kitties can see things you humans can’t! I found an article this week that confirms that.

When I was a younger kit, I did the same thing…sat and stared at the drain in the sink. The mom was convinced there must be something down there the way I was staring at it all the time. Humans are so gullible. ๐ ~Wally

This is TOO funny! Our Felix is convinced there is a monster in the laundry room…I don’t think he’s lost any rocks in there, though!

You’re so brave, Delilah! Remain vigilant, sweet one, but be careful around those sinks!

That’s so funny. We have some friends whose cats love to pull the drain up from the shower. Every day. Do the cats know something we should know?
