Wow, it’s been a while. One of my goals this year is to do a better job of keeping up with the blog. I’m not making any promises, but I will do my best 🙂
My dad passed away pretty unexpectedly a couple weeks after Thanksgiving. One of my coping mechanisms has been to work. A lot. Coming over here to my personal blog to write just wasn’t something I’ve felt much like doing. But here I am, here we are!
It has been an eventful couple months for the KCC Gang. We celebrated Gryphon’s birthday in December. We made the decision to keep him last year on Christmas day, after fostering him for about a month. So we consider Christmas Day to be his “birthday.” He is now a year old!
I’ve never had a cat with his colorings before, so I didn’t know they changed colors and got darker as they get older. Look at how much he has changed since last year!
Gryph continues to be the wildest cat of them all. I’ve never had a cat with so much energy before. He runs around the house making whining sounds, looking for someone to bother or for something to get into. He’s insane. But oh so much fun.
He will settle down for snuggles with Sophie though. Here they are in their favorite bed, which is clearly not made for two cats….
January 11th was Caster’s “birthday.” He would have been 8. He would have LOVED Gryph. Caster was pretty wild and loved to wrestle. I think he might would have found his rough-and-tumble match in Gryphon. Though Caster would have had the advantage of being almost twice Gryphy’s size (I haven’t weighed him recently, but I’d guess he’s around 6 pounds…).
I miss Caster every day. He was such a good cat.
And finally, Delilah’s “Gotcha Day” was the 17th. Some of the photos from the day we adopted her 9 YEARS AGO came up in my Facebook memories. Bobby and I decided to try to recreate them. Here are Deli’s “Then & Now” photos.
I suppose that’s it for now! Hopefully we will have some warmer days soon so we can get out for a hike or two.

Awww, such sweet memories and all that growing!
Yes, meezer types do change a lot! Esp the darker pointed ones:)
Gryphon is ever so handsome!! I had a good giggle at how he got on top of Sophie!
Our Angel Toki did that same to MJF (the dog!!), when he first came here he got right on top of the 2.5 pound puppy….and they were buddies from the get go!

Sending our condolences on your Dad. That is tough.
We are so happy that Gryphon has fit in so well and has grown into such a fine young man. Siamese are very loyal and generally pick one person has he done that? Happy Birthday fella. Happy Birthday to Angel Caster and Gotcha Day to Delilah too. So glad to see you all and looking forward to adventures to come

Our hearts go out to you on your dad’s passing. My mom lost hers about 13 years ago and misses him still, and my dad recently found out his passed away within the past couple of years and feels absolutely nothing. So sad all ’round. Continue to take whatever time’s necessary, but we’re glad to see you getting back to your blogging. This is a wonderfully glorious collection of kitty photos!
