We have some exciting news to to share with you today! We are first-time foster parents to this sweet, little boy. Everybody, meet…
GRYPHON!
Right before Thanksgiving, Sophie’s foster mom Rebecca texted me a picture and video of an adorable, 6-week old, bobble-headed kitten and asked if Bobby and I would be able to foster him until he’s old enough to be neutered and adopted out. Gryphon had a wobbly head, which can be a symptom of cerebellar hypoplasia. Rebecca said that for a while she was even having to hold his head for him while he ate. Though his bobble head was improving, he might would still need a little extra care. And since Bobby and I have experience with wobbly kitties, she thought we might be able to help.
We talked it over and agreed to take him in. For the first time in my life, I felt like I could successfully foster a cat and be able to adopt him out. Bobby, however, said that he would be fine with it if we were to end up keeping him…
We are now 2 weeks into the fostering experience. It’s been a lot of work, but also a lot of fun! Gryphon is too cute for words. He fits right in with our gang. He and Sophie are best friends already. He is rambunctious and playful, but also very snuggly. He is fearless and loves to climb. He also seems to have grown out of his wobbly-headedness, which is great!
Bobby is already pretty much convinced that Gryphon won’t be going anywhere. I, however, have been able to maintain objectivity. Since Caster’s passing, I just don’t feel ready to emotionally attach to another animal. As cute as Gryphon is, I am committed to a successful foster experience!
For now, I will enjoy the snuggles and play time though.

OMC! OMC!!
What a Cutie Pie!!
That is wonderful that you are fostering him…and even better that he is doing so much better with ‘the wobblies’.
Enjoy!
Maybe you will decide to be a foster failure later on…MOL!
He sure will have fun at your home this Christmas season…way better than in a shelter.

What an adorable little guy…….while you feel fostering is better than adopting, I think we all know how healing giving our heart can be. He obviously is happy with you all…..what better Christmas gift for the family than a new little one who will grow up knowing such a fabulous family as yours? However you decide, that little guy is lucky to have such a wonderful start. Meowy Christmas!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy

Seeing those last two photos nearly brought tears to my eyes. Gryphon clearly loves you. I hope Bobby is right and Gryphon gets to stay with your family and his new bestie Sophie. But I’m sure you will do what’s best for everyone.
