Sophie’s Indian Mounds Adventure

Sophie’s Indian Mounds Adventure

Hey guys! I got to go on an adventure yesterday! It’s been a while since I’ve been on an adventure.. not since BlogPaws, actually. I’ve been squirming for one, but Mom and Dad said I couldn’t go outside for a while because we all had the dreaded F word… fleas. We finally got a handle on them, so that means adventure time!

When Mom and Dad loaded me up in my Sleepypod, my brofurs had to investigate. I think they were a little bit jealous that they didn’t get to go, but honestly, they are both big babies. They couldn’t handle an adventure like the one we were about to embark on.

Sampson!! That’s my head you’re standing on!!!

We finally got out the door and headed to the Ocmulgee National Monument. It’s this super cool place not far from us where Native Americans used to live like a bazillion years ago. There are lots of Indian Mounds (whatever that means) and cool hiking trails.

We were like the only ones there, so I got go off-leash. I don’t recommend going off-leash on adventures for normal kitties, but because of my CH I can’t run very fast or jump or climb, which means that I can’t get away from Mom and Dad even if I wanted to. I stay right with them, and they keep an annoyingly close eye on me. They won’t let me do anything by myself. Talk about overprotective…  but it’s for my own safety!

The coolest part about outdoor adventures is getting to roll around in the grass. I got to bring along a couple of my favorite ball toys, and I had the best time rolling around in the dirt with them.

Unfortunately it was SUPER hot, so we didn’t stay very long. Mom and Dad were worried that I would get over-heated. More of that overprotective stuff…

Anyway, we had a great time, even if it was a short adventure. They promised we would go back again sometime. I can’t wait, because I’d really like to roll down that Indian Mound. There was a sign on it that said “Keep Off,” but I think I could easily get away with it by claiming I can’t read… right???

Here’s to the next big adventure!!!

P.S. We are now on Periscope! You can follow us @kittycatchronicles. Mom and I will be doing a LIVE Q&A broadcast about cerebellar hypoplasia this Wednesday at 7pm for #WobblyWednesday! I hope you’ll join us! Bring any and all questions you may have about CH, and we will answer them LIVE! If you don’t have Periscope, you can email us a question. We will post the video here on the blog eventually, so all our furiends can view the it.

That is so cool, Sophie! We actually have Indian mounds not far from our home, too. Our Mommy would NEVER even take us, much less let out of a carrier. Your Mommy is great!
Stay cool, sweet furriends and good luck with your broadcast!

Sophie, you are so lucky you get to go off leash – that would NEVER happen here! My human’s birthday is this week and she says she has something special planned for me – I have NO idea what it is! I hope it’s good!

But that does look like an epic adventure, and while it might not feel like it at the time, over protective is a good thing

What a great adventure! The head peep says she didn’t know that there were indian mounds in Georgia. She is familiar with them from the parks in north Florida.

We’ve never heard of Periscope. Mom says that she can’t do more than what she’s doing. Her excuse is that she’s to old. It sure appears as if you had a terrific time Sophie. It’s been so super hot, your lucky your humans agreed to take you on this adventure. Please join us tomorrow for our 3rd blogoversary. We are giving away lots of prizes. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo. Astrid sends Sampy all her love and a kiss for every blade of grass in the world.

Wow, Sophie! What a cool adventure. We can understand why your peeps are a little over-protective. You wouldn’t want to get into something you shouldn’t.

You always have so much fun, Sophie! The lady was considering taking me out in a harness to the grass outside our home but was thinking how easy it would be to pick up a flea. All the neighbors walk their dogs (she’d take me out when nobody was out) and it just takes one flea. Anyway, these pictures are so cute of you! We will try to watch you tomorrow.
