The Case of the Cereal Caper

The Case of the Cereal Caper

A couple of nights ago, just as I had turned the light out to go to sleep, the sound of a kitchen cabinet opening and closing filled the silence. My husband and I groaned, flipped the light back on, and headed downstairs to investigate. As we turned the corner towards the kitchen, two kitties fled the scene. We thought perhaps we had scared the perpetrators off, until we turned the kitchen light on and found this…

Caster Cat in the Cabinet

Upon opening the cabinet, we were greeted by a mischievous kitty who glanced our direction once and then returned to his mission: devouring the cereal as quickly as possible…

Cereal Caper
We shooed him/her out of the cabinet and had quite a mess to clean up. This kitty had done enough damage to the cereal bag that we had to move it all to a big ziploc bag, which we put in the refrigerator. In fact, we moved all of the food from the cabinet to the refrigerator.

The food is safe for now, but it’s only a matter of time before these kitty masterminds find a way to open the refrigerator door. And how long will that be? How long before they take over the world?!?

We are reaching out to our furiends for help. Who could the Cereal Caper Culprit be? For extra points, who were the two accomplices who fled the scene?

Gots to be Caster! We are guessing that Sampson and Delilah fled the scene! Time for some sturdy Lock ‘n Lock containers and some baby latches on the cabinets. You sure have a sneaky bunch! Astrid is sending a barrelful of kisses to Sampy. She’s going to start decorating her sombrero in a little bit. Love and hugs to all. oh this cracked me up! And to think I thought Cody was brazen!! Yours OPEN cupboards! Cody doesn’t!
Hmmm….the tail DOES look like Sophie….but upon closer inspection, it could be Caster’s tail too…not to mention, Caster’s expression in the last photo looks incredibly guilt-ridden!! Can’t wait to hear who it was!

I just re-read the post and I am going with Caster. In the first part you said …” then returned to his mission:” You used the word HIS…..then further down you said his/her. It’s Caster for sure and coupled with that guilty expression, I have no doubt!!!

We are guessing it was Caster and that Sampson and Delilah fled the scene! Maybe you should increase their daily intake of foods. It appears you are starving them to death!! ;p

They all look so innocent. I think you had some big mice or possible a rat.

I open the cupboard doors too…but I’m always quick to not get caught in there! I think that it’s Caster who’s the culprit. ~Wally

That tail floof means it is either Sophie or Caster… and I think it is Sophie, which would be just more proof that cerebellar hypoplasia does NOT stop a kitty from her main duty of creating mayhem!

Such a bold crime! My guess is it’s Caster who was in the cabinet and didn’t even flee 🙂 Two other kitties, I think are Delilah and Sophie!

Very impressive feat there. My guess is Sampson. Thank goodness whoever it was didn’t go for the M&Ms.
