- We have been truly touched and inspired by the participants of the #WobblyWednesday hashtag party we have been hosting the past two weeks. I have to admit I sometimes feel like, as a special needs pet parent, that I am in a bubble. I get so wrapped up in Sophie and/or Sassy and what I am doing for them, that I don’t think about all of the other special needs animals and their parents that are out there doing all of the same things, going through all of the same struggles. I know they are out there, but seeing them and hearing about them makes it so much more real. #WobblyWednesday has not only helped to raise awareness (hopefully) for cerebellar hypoplasia and other special needs animals – it has helped me to feel more connected to other special needs pet families. Seriously – if you haven’t checked out the videos and photos that have been shared with #WobblyWednesday (particularly on Instagram), I highly suggest it. You won’t be able to help but smile.
- This isn’t related to pets or blogging, but I am constantly inspired by my students. I make my living as a musician, and a big part of that includes teaching private drum/percussion and piano lessons. I have students of all ages, ranging from 3-60+, and they are all amazing. I can be having a frustrating and bad day, but when I go in to the studio to teach, all of it melts away. These kids come in every week excited to learn about music, and when they “get” that piece they have been learning, or when they play along to their favorite song, the look on their face is priceless. Teaching them and watching them grow as musicians makes me want to continue to learn and get better myself.
- This isn’t related to pets or blogging either, but a friend and coworker of mine was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. She is having to undergo chemo and radiation before having her bladder completely removed. She had her first round of chemo last week, and she was at work the next day with a smile on her face. Though she did have to miss a couple of days after that, she returned with a positive and upbeat attitude. She has such a great spirit about her, and she is an inspiration for sure!

- I love to play games, particularly board games, and I am extremely competitive. All game rules have to be followed to a T, and nothing even remotely close to cheating is allowed! Pictionary is my absolute favorite.
- I have a huge sweet tooth. I’ve always said that I have a second stomach for dessert, so no matter how full I get at a meal, I’ve always got room for dessert! Ice cream is my weakness.
- I have lived in six different states (North Carolina, Florida, Texas, Indiana, Louisiana, and Georgia) and 15 different houses/apartments (not including college dorms/apartments). I’ve lived in Georgia the longest, with 9 of those houses/apartments being in Georgia. No military immediate family members, just various reasons for moving – mostly for my dad’s work as a kid, and then divorced parents.
- My all-time favorite band is Queen. I could listen to them all day.
- If I could visit one place in the entire world, it would be Australia. So much to see and so much cool wildlife! And I would for sure have to go scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef (I am a PADI certified diver, but have only been diving three times).
This is the hardest part for sure! We know that most of our furiends have already received these awards, but we can’t keep up with who has and who hasn’t. If we nominate you and you’ve already received it, we apologize.

We loved learning more about Mom Emily and reading about the things that inspired her this week. Our favorite awards are those that give us the opportunity to learn more about our friends and fellow bloggers. So super happy that #WobblyWednesday is a success. Astrid sends Sampy all her love smothered in purrs and kisses equal to the number of drum beats Mom Emily has ever made. Love to all from all of us. Congrats on the awards! We feel humbled that you thought to choose us and feel honoured to be the recipients of both awards. Now we will have to get that lazy, no good for nothin you know who to post about them. Easier said than done! π
We loved learning new things about your Mama. Our Mama has a second and third stomach for sweets! She will arm wrestle small, innocent toddlers for their chocolate!;p
Your Mama sounds like a rock star! We think it is v.cool that she plays percussion.
Our thoughts are with your friend ; may her strength carry her through this challenge to complete health on the other side.
Have a great weekend all.

Thank you so much for the awards- you are so sweet π It is always an honor to be recognized by fellow bloggers. I wish you lived near me, I would take piano lessons from you- I took them for a couple years ( as an adult) and would love to try again.
I will pray for your friend.
Annie says
Congrats on your awards! It was really nice reading these things about you. I sure hope your friend will heal completely from the cancer. What a lovely person!
Thank you so much for passing these on to us!!

Congrats on your awards! They are definitely well-deserved. This week was nuts, so I didn’t get a chance to look through the #WobblyWednesday, but I definitely want to read the posts and participate, too. Animals can have all kinds of special needs, and it’s wonderful that you are raising awareness. I’d like to meet more special needs pet parents, too. Sometimes it can be overwhelming dealing with all the medical issues my baby Carmine faces, but of course, he is completely worth it, and I wouldn’t trade him for anything!
I like to play board games, too, by the way π
Pipo & Minko (WBS) says
Congrats on your awards!
Our meowmy enjoyed your non kitty answers! She took music lessons for many years (violin) as an adult, reaching the humble level of Grade 7, RCMT…now she can’t even hardly scrape it, OMC π
So when she hears things she played in the past it reinspires her to support others doing music. Our unfurs took piano/organ lessons and unfur the elder reached level 10 in piano and played a lot in church as well as the organ. Now he shuns those…sheesh. he pretends to know nothing about music. Our peeps hope he will someday pick it up again, a talent not used is such a waste.
Meowmy too is all to familiar with taking chemo and having surgeries (5) for that cancer trouble. It changes your life, that is for sure. She is fine now, since finishing the chemo way back in 2007.
Sending purrs and wishes for a good outcome to your Mom’s friend. Pawyers, too.
Meowmy’s fave board game is Scrabble.
