I’d like to introduce you to the best Valentine’s Day surprise I’ve ever had… Kylo Ren!
I met him a couple weeks ago at PetSmart when Sophie and I went to visit her foster mom, who runs the adoption events for Circle of Friends Animal Society at PetSmart on Sundays. He caught my attention because he was rambunctious and full of energy, running around and pestering all of the other cats with his antics. It made me laugh and reminded me of Caster. They seemed like they would be two peas in a pod. I mentioned him in passing to my husband, not because I thought we should get him, just because he came up when I was telling Bobby about my afternoon. On Friday, I went to visit a friend of mine for the weekend. I got home Saturday evening, and my husband told me he had a Valentine’s Day surprise for me, but that I had to find it. I looked around for a few seconds, and then in ran this little guy! I was COMPLETELY shocked and surprised, I didn’t even know what to say! I just kept smiling and laughing and asking Bobby over and over again if it was real.
Bobby had called Sophie’s foster mom on Saturday, and having no idea what the cat’s name was, described him to her to find out where he was and how he could get him. Rebekah told him where to go, Bobby did, and there ya have it – this adorable little guy is ours.We named him Kylo Ren, after the villain from the new Star Wars movie. Kylo Ren was my favorite character in the movie (the villains always are), and he wears all black – very fitting I think! Kylo Ren the cat has settled right in here already, and everyone seems to like him. As when I first met him, he runs around the house and pounces on everyone. It’s adorable. It’s been so long since we had a kitten in the house (Sampson was the last kitten we had) – I forgot what it was like to have that kitten energy running around. So much fun.
I hope you all will enjoy watching this little guy grow up with us. I know I will!
