It’s been a while since we’ve posted, and I do apologize for that. We were in Kansas City for the 2018 BlogPaws Conference a few weeks ago, and I have been slammed with work since we got back. Trying to get back into the swing of things… and what better way to do that than by telling you guys about our big BlogPaws adventure!
The trip started off at the Atlanta airport. Kylo Ren has gone on several road trips before, but this was his first airplane trip. Though he got nervous at the security checkpoint, he did very well overall. Not a peep the entire flight! (More about flying with Kylo Ren in another post.)
After arriving at our hotel, Kylo wasted no time making himself at home and exploring.
One of the highlights of the trip was definitely getting to see some of our fellow blogging buddies and their kitties (and even doggies)! We got to see Summer of Sparklecat.com, Chanel of Random-Felines.com, Cupcake of CatsGoingPlaces.com, and Spencer of SpencertheGoldenDoodle.com. They are all so cute and sweet!
Kylo Ren’s other favorite part about the conference was hanging out in the Cat Lounge. The Cat Lounge was full of all kinds of fun cat-related products, like towers, beds, scratchers, toys, and more! Kylo had to test everything out, of course.
The conference wasn’t all play though. Kylo and I both attended a few sessions about different blogging and social media topics. We learned a lot, and Kylo helped me to take notes.
It wore him out.
On the second-to-last day of our trip, we had a little free time, so Kylo Ren and I took a trip to a park around the corner with our wonderful friends Janet and Tom from TheCatonMyHead.com. We couldn’t visit a new city without going on at least a little outdoor adventure! (More about Kylo’s Kansas City park adventure in another post!)
All too soon, the last day of the conference arrived, and with it, the Nose-to-Nose Awards. The Nose-to-Nose Awards are the premier pet-blogging and social media awards, and we happened to be finalists for the very first time! The video of Kylo and Caster taking a boat ride down the St. John’s River earned us a finalist title in the “Best Video” category.
Since we were finalists, Kylo wanted to dress up for the occasion. I wont’ lie – I had the best-looking date there.
With Kylo being so dressed up, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to walk the red carpet prior to the awards ceremony. I was so proud of him – he actually walked on his leash down the carpet and posed for some photos.
Sadly, we didn’t win, but we had a wonderful time and are honored just to have been finalists.
Our trip to Kansas City was a fun one, but we were glad to get home. There’s no place like home, after all! Now to go through all the swag and goodies… Yes, all of the swag and goodies are still in a suitcase in our guest bedroom. If the kitties only knew, they would be very angry with me…. 😉
