Today is a special day, indeed! We are celebrating Caster’s 6th birthday! I’m especially excited about this one because it wasn’t long ago that I was honestly scared he wasn’t going to make it to his 6th birthday. He was losing his vision, got very ill, and the vet couldn’t (and still hasn’t) figured out what was wrong. Praise God, he made a full recovery though, and he is here today to ring in his 6th year! I am extra grateful for the small things, like Caster’s grumpy meow, his wall-climbing, and the way he body-slams any closed door.
A few nights ago, I was woken up out of a dead sleep to a loud BANG! We don’t usually sleep with the bedroom door closed, but Bobby was out in the living room watching TV, so I had shut the door to keep the noise down. When I heard the bang, I thought Bobby had done something out in the living room, but then I realized that the sound had come from much closer. It was at the door. I got out of bed, opened the door, and was greeted by Caster who was sitting “politely” right outside. He looked up at me mischievously and proceeded into the bedroom. As loud as the bang was, you would have thought an NFL player had slammed into the door. I couldn’t help but laugh to myself.
Caster, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to be celebrating your birthday today. You are a rambunctious grouch; a curmudgeon… our “Mudgey.” And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I know Kylo Ren is thrilled to have his wrestling partner too. Your crazy and wild (and secretly lovey) personality is a vital part of our family. Today, and every day, we celebrate you. I love you, Little Mudge, and look forward to many more years of your antics.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CASTER!
Thanks to our furiends Pipo, Dalton, and Benji for the wonderful birthday card. We love you guys!
