Well, I should say, “Happy BELATED Birthday, Sassy!” Sassy joined Delilah in the Big 8 Club on November 15th. We’ve been out of town a lot this past month though, so I am just now getting around to posting about it… whoops.
Anyway, Sassy is doing great! We gave up on trying integrate her with the other cats last year, but she is thriving as an “only cat.” She loves her room, which is also my husband’s office. Because he’s in there with her all the time, she has especially bonded with him.
Every day, she gets a couple hours of free rein of the house. We put the other cats up in our bedroom and let Sassy out. Her favorite thing is to run back and forth across the house, and then snuggle up with Bobby or me. She’s such a sweet girl.
It’s crazy to think that it’s been 6 years since she showed up at our old apartment and started sleeping in the empty flower pot on the porch. I’ll never forget coming home from work every day and peeking over the wall of the porch to see if she was still there. She always was.
Happy Birthday, sweet Sassy. I’ll always be grateful that you chose our flower pot.
