Operation Catification: Cat Shelves, Coming Right Up!

Since moving into our first home a few months back, my list of “catification” projects has only continued to grow. I’ve always had ideas about how I wanted to catify our home, and I’m so excited to be able to finally start on them! Slowly but surely, our house will be the coolest cat house in town!

As you may have seen on our Wordless Wednesday post a couple of days ago, we have put up some cat shelves. We’ve been saving up for these for a while and finally made the big purchase just a few days before Christmas. I didn’t expect the shelves to arrive by Christmas, as the email I received after placing the order said that it could take up to three weeks for the order to be filled. I was pleasantly surprised to find them on my doorstep on Christmas Eve. Needless to say, they went up on the wall immediately.

All it took was a little stud finding, measuring, and drilling…

And voila!

Cat Shelves - Catification

It really was that easy.

We had to show the kitties that the shelves were meant to be climbed on by enticing them with treats…

Β But it didn’t take long before they were enjoying the shelves and just hanging out on them.

As you can see, the cat shelves are quite the hit. The really neat thing about them too is that we can add to our configuration, little by little, with all kinds of different things – hammocks, beds, bridges, more shelves, sisal posts, and more! This is only the beginning…

For anyone wondering, these shelves were ordered from Catastrophic Creations. We were not compensated in any way by posting about these shelves. We just really love them and wanted to tell you about our first Catification Project!

I have wondered if Callie would like something like this, but she doesn’t seem to care for getting in high places. My last cat would frequently sit on top of the fridge, however. How does Sophie do with these?

We’ve got a couple of fridge climbers too! Unfortunately, Sophie can’t enjoy the shelves πŸ™ She can’t get onto them, as she can’t really jump. It would be very dangerous for her to be on them anyway, because her balance is poor she could possibly just fall off and isn’t able to catch herself or land on her feet.

I wish my Dad could do that. Anything he hangs on the walls falls down.

It’s great that you are finally able to put your catification plans in action. We have a couple of high shelves and mom plans to add more. I say, catification is never done!

That’s pawsome. Sadly, Mom says we rent, so we can’t do this stuff. But she does have an idea this weekend about some ramps….

Oh my goodness, I LOVE your wall shelves! They are put so beautifully and looks like your kitties are enjoying them a lot! We have a shelf with stretch fabric from the same company. It’s sturdy and well made πŸ™‚
We are working on adding new shelves now, too. I look forward to reading more about your catification projects!

This is a company I hadn’t heard about before. I have bookmarked their website as the prices seem really reasonable. I can’t wait to see what additions you make as time goes on. Everybody certainly has taken to them quickly. Sending love and hugs to call. Astrid sends Sampy a kiss for every shelf in existence and lots of love. Hugs, Janet
