Radagast the Orange, Right at Home
Radagast the Orange has been with us for three weeks now. It seems like it’s been much longer though. He has made himself right at home, as if he’s always been here.
He gets along so well with the other kitties. Nobody even batted an eye when we brought him home, except for Kylo Ren. Kylo, being the most recent addition to the KCC Gang, had never experienced a new kitty joining the fold. He wasn’t sure about it at first, but as you can see, he has come around…
I have learned that Raddy’s most favorite thing is SNUGGLES! He could snuggle all day long and does snuggle with me all night. He sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night because he is trying to be lovey. A couple nights ago, I was awoken by Raddy patting my face with his paw. When I looked down at him, he gave me lovey eyes and chin kisses. What a sweet heart <3
As for Raddy’s back leg issues, I’m still trying to figure them out. X-rays have ruled out bone issues, so it seems to be a muscular issue. I’ve been doing some at-home physical therapy with him by stretching his back legs out for him, as suggested by the vet. However, he can already stretch his back legs out on his own.
For some unknown reason, he just doesn’t or can’t stretch them out when he’s walking. Whether it’s because his back-leg muscles aren’t strong enough to support his own weight or he developed this weird walking habit for some reason, I’m not sure. I’m going to be exploring some different options to try to help with this, like perhaps one of those walking slings or harnesses for disabled animals.
In the mean time, Raddy and I will be enjoying some cuddles 🙂
And do we perhaps have another future adventure cat on our hands? We shall see…

I have to say, you have one of the most well-adjusted big kitty/ critter families around! I’m so glad Radagast has been welcomed so well into your throng.

OMC…that final photo. Even if this isn’t a “selfie,” I think you should add it to the blog hop. Everyone needs to see that face. Your boy is exquisitely handsome! If the back legs are a muscular problem it can take lots of work to rebuild those, but if there is a way, we know you’ll do it Mom Emily. He is absolutely ADORABLE…….that face is priceless and I agree with Janet – that last photo is precious. I hope his back legs will be alright – interesting issue for sure but it sure isn’t stopping him from making friends there and being a TOTAL sweetheart.
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)

Daddy is a total sweetie! I’m hoping the harness/support for his back end will help boost those muscles. Building his confidence overall will help, too, I’ll bet. Welcome to the team, Raddy!

What a sweetheart is Raddy!!! And a furry handsome one at that!
Is it possible that his mobility issues are neurological issues, caused by an immune disorder? There was a kitty on Catster who had something similar…but I can’t get in there to check it out…the site is down.
