Yesterday was the two-year anniversary of Milton’s departure for the Rainbow Bridge. Even two year laters, it hurts my heart to think about all that he missed out on. My only comfort is that he knew love for that short week that I had with him.
Milton is buried in our back yard and with a white-flowering dogwood tree planted over him. I was worried Milton’s tree didn’t make it through this past winter. When springtime came and everything was in full bloom, Milton’s tree was bare. However, a few weeks late, he finally bloomed. I think that’s rather fitting, actually. The real Milton was a late bloomer himself, after all.
Now Milton’s tree stands at about 11 feet tall and continues to grow. A wonderful reminder of the adorably sweet and lovable Milton <3

Feeling a little teary-eyed. Two years seems to have flown by, and Milton’s tree is growing fast. What you did for this baby and what you would have done for him if you could have saved him is all any kitty could wish for. We love you all for everything you do for all your kitties, but especially the special needs ones. Astrid is sending Sampy all her love and oodles of kisses ?. Hugs! Bless you for giving your heart and home to Milton, despite his short time with you. The tree is a lovely reminder.
That precious little guy stole my heart and I never even met him. I remember being at the hospital with my dad on the day you lost him and I started crying right there. Thank you for loving him so much during the short time you had him.
His tree is a wonderful symbol of courage and love .
Sending you hugs as you remember sweet Milton.
Some cats change everything for us – even when the time we spend with them is a matter of days instead of years. Gorgeous tree!
A life so brief, but a lifetime of love and importance. Sending purrs and prayers to you as you remember your beloved Milton.
We send gentle wooooos,
Thanks for sharing Milton’s memory. You were lucky to have been graced with each other, even for such a short time.
Milton and I have been having a grand time. I introduced him to our families kitten angel, Teeny Tiny.
