1) those that don’t let their pets sleep in the bed with them
2) those that let their pets sleep in the bed with them but move the pets when they get uncomfortable
3) those that let their pets sleep in the bed with them and don’t move the pets no matter how uncomfortable they get.
My husband falls into the second category, while I fall into the third category. The cats seem to know this too – “Dad will move me or push me off if I make him hot or uncomfortable, but Mom won’t move me no matter what.” Do you know what that means? They all pile onto my side of the bed.
One at my feet, one in the bend of my knee, one in my arms, and one on my pillow.
I woke up a couple of mornings ago with my head barely on my pillow. When I looked up to see why, this is what I found…
Maybe I should consider becoming a different category of pet owner…
Oh, who am I kidding… There’s no other way I’d rather wake up!
What about you? Do you let your pets sleep with you?
We know you are missed, Julie! Sending purrs and love to your mom and family.
Clooney says
That sure does look like a comfy sleeping spot, Delilah! Our Human can relate for sure.
prancer pie says
Our peeps are #3 and we definitely take advantage of that fact!
We think it’s funny how your Mommy only had this little bit of pillow for her head….MOL!
Summer says
The humans here are both Category 2 humans, which makes it hard to decide which side to sleep on! We can’t win, no matter what. Except for Binga who turns herself into a lead weight that is nearly impossible to move.
That's Purrfect says
My husband and I both fall into the third category. We have one, not particularly big, cat. I don’t know how but she still manages to take up three-quarters of the bed while we huddle in the corner!
Sometimes Cats Herd You says
MOL! Ashton sleeps between the head peep and the edge of the bed. That’s the ONLY place she sleeps in the bed. When Pierre comes to bed and parks it there first, she gets so offended and will eventually cram herself right next to him because it’s *her* spot.
Toby & Leia says
I didn’t know there was any option besides #3!!!
Tamago says
LOL! Delilah totally took over your spot. Love her bright innocent smile π I definitely fall into # 3. My arm sometimes stays under Niko the whole night, and I wake up with sore arm. Still, worth it π
Annabelle says
I fall into the third category too! The cats normally pin me in and I have to sleep that way or else! MOL
Brian Frum says
We just pile on in whenever we feel like it and the peeps make sure we are comfortable!
Madi says
The more I have under me the better I sleep.
Just sayin’
hugs madi your bfff
Kitties Blue says
Of course, no one owns a pet. They allow us as humans to live with them and cater to their every desire, which you do quite well, Mom Emily. Our humans both fall into category 3. That’s about as much pillow as Misty May ever gives our mom. We say, “good job” to Delilah for making herself comfy. Astrid is sending a kiss to Sampy for every feather in every pillow in the world. Love and hugs to all. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Sherri-Ellen T-D. says
ROFWL>>>> I totally relate Emily!!!
Nylablue & Mingflower used to lie horizontally across the Queen sized bed & I had the slim sliver on the left side of the bed…..
I never had the heart to move either of ‘my girls’.
Siddhartha Henry sleeps on my cervical pillow so apparently I do not need it π
I wouldn’t have it any other way either!
Delilah looks pretty satisfied with herself I must say….Pure Cattitude!

The Swiss Cats says
Mum and Dad belong to the first category ; Mum really needs a lot of good sleep to feel well, and we’re used to see the bedroom’s door shut during the night. We’re welcome on and in the bed early morning, when she begins to wake up, for a great snuggles session ! Purrs
Caren Gittleman says
I’m a #3 too………….NO WAY will I disturb my babies!
Dezi and Lexi says
MOL Yep of course we sleep wiff mommy. And even ifin she kuld move in bed she wuldn’t dare disturb us. Have a wunnewful day.
Luv ya’

BeadedTail says
We don’t see anything wrong with where Delilah was sleeping so guess it’s #3 for us here too. Just as it should be!
The Island Cats says
I hate to admit it, but I’m in category 2. I will move the cats if I’m really uncomfortable, much to their dismay.
Island Cat Mom
Ellen Pilch says
Same here π My Sammy takes over my pillows and leaves me a tiny corner.
Katie Isabella says
I will admit, my mom is in the 3rd category. She has suffered so much because of me. I get the thin edge of the bed. She gets the whole REST of the bed but still uses MY THIN SIDE!
meowmeowmans says
We’re pretty much #3s here. MOL!
LP says
We are #3 here BUT…with the unusually hot, hot weather we have been having…LP has moved Esme from her usual stuck to her chest position to a spot on the pillow where they are not touching. Esme doesn’t like it and has let LP know!!
the critters in the cottage xo
LYNN Delage says
I let my pets sleep with me. I just have one dog right now and he starts out on the bed but gets down during the night ol sleep in the floor.
Sammy says
I used to sleep at the foot of my Mom and Dad’s bed when I was younger…….then I decided they snore too much (hahaha) so I began sleeping on the sofa in the living room. Now I have a variety of other spots I can sleep in like under the dining room table or on the top of a chair so I can see out a window. My arthritis keeps me from using the stairs much these days and Mom and Dad are UPSTAIRS at night. Now none of us keep the other awake – I know I snore too! HAHAHA
Hugs, Sammy
Rosa @ Cat Lady Confidential says
I love my cat, but I must confess I fall into category #1 – we don’t let our cat sleep in the bed with us – because he doesn’t sleep or lets anyone sleep. But on weekends we early in the morning we let him come and hang with us on the bed for two or three hours and it’s always an adventure π
Pipo/Minko/MrJackFreckles says
We are category one, here, the peeps have nevfur let any furry kids sleep with them…meowmy has a lot of allergies, so she doesn’t want to wake up one day and find she is allergic to us kitties…well she *is* allergic to domestic kitties, but orientals don’t bother her nearly as much:)
