#WobblyWednesday – A Rose by Any Other Name…
Wouldn’t be as sweet as this beautiful girl!
Meet Rose! She is a super sweet calico kitty (look at those unique markings!) with a severe case of cerebellar hypoplasia. She has trouble walking or standing on her own for long period of time, but that doesn’t affect her spirit.
Rose had a loving family that raised her from birth, but unfortunately they had to give her up because of overwhelming difficulties. Living with a CH kitty, especially a severe one, isn’t always a walk in the park, and it certainly isn’t for everyone. But with patience, dedication, time, and love, a CH kitty can thrive, and a beautiful relationship between kitty and human can be formed!
Rose will make a great addition to any family, though special considerations will have to be taken into account due to her CH. She does have difficulty eating because of her head tremors, but that’s not a big deal – a raised food bowl can do wonders for a wobbly kitty! You will just need to be patient with her, as meal times may be time consuming. You can also get creative with her water source if necessary – lots of severe CH cat parents have found that the water bottles that rabbits/hamsters/gerbils drink from work extremely well for severe CHers. Rose may also require occasional baths. CH kitties aren’t always the best self-groomers, and they sometimes get messy in the litter box.
Though it may seem like caring for Rose may be a lot of work, we guarantee that it’s worth it! Watching a special needs animal grow, thrive, and develop is one of the most rewarding experiences!
Rose is almost 2 years old, is up-to-date on vaccinations, and is available for adoption through Fallon Animal Welfare Group in Nevada.
