Thankful Thursday: New Friends
We have so many things to be thankful for, but today we would like to especially thank Sharon Seltzer! Sharon is the voice of Lessons from a Paralyzed Dog: A Tribute to the Fastest Runner in the Dog Park. She started the blog to share the lessons she learned from her dog, Sophie, after Sophie became paralyzed. Sharon’s blog is very uplifting and shares such sweet and touching stories of her journey with Sophie. It is a truly moving journey to read about – I suggest you check it out.
Anyway, Sharon recently contacted me and asked if I would like to share MY Sophie’s story to be featured on her blog. She frequently features stories of other special needs pets and thought that my Sophie’s story would be perfect. Of course I accepted her invitation! cerebellar hypoplasia.
I am always excited to share Sophie’s story with others. For one thing, I think her story is inspirational. She amazes me every day with the things she is able to accomplish. For another, raising awareness about cerebellar hypoplasia is an important issue. So many animals who are diagnosed with CH are needlessly euthanized, and Sophie is a living testament that CH kitties can lead perfectly happy and healthy lives.
So THANK YOU, Sharon – for reaching out to me, for sharing Sophie’s story, and for being our new friend!

The kitties would like to add one more thing they are thankful for…….
THEIR NEW GIANT TV/TANNING BED!!!
That’s not a sun puddle…that’s a sun pool! Enjoy!!
They really do enjoy it!
Wow, your kitties hit the jackpot with your new house and that window. We will pop over to the other blog to read Sophie’s story. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
They are definitely pleased with their new window. It’s actually a sliding glass door, and Sophie tries to run out every time we open it. She loves going outside. The back yard is fenced in, so we let her out to roam whenever we are out there to supervise.
We loved reading Sophie’s story and seeing the great video and adorable photos. The thing about Sophie is that she has no idea she is different from other kitties. Your right, it would be great if humans could be more like our favorite four-leggers. Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
You’re right about Sophie – she doesn’t know she’s different. Which is amazing to me. Thanks for visiting Lessons from a Paralyzed Dog and reading Sophie’s story!
Emily, thank you so much for recommending Lessons From A Paralyzed Dog. I was happy to share your Sophie’s story.
And I was happy to recommend your blog! I love keeping up with it, and I hope that I’ve introduced some new people to it who will enjoy it as much 🙂
Wow, that’s a giant sun puddle, enuff fur effryone to enjoy! MOL 🙂
kitty sleeping is too adorable. And oh so jealous of that huge sun spot!
